Welcome to CaroAlAparato! I'm Carolina and today we're here with the first part of our Christmas series! I love music, and if there is something that awakens my 'Christmas spirit' it's carols. So today I'm going to teach you how to connect devices via Bluetooth (speakers, wireless earbuds, etc.). So you can blast some carols!

What is Bluetooth?

It's a wireless communication technology that allows the transmission of data over short distances between devices thanks to radio waves. Most phones nowadays have it implemented, but if your computer doesn't, you can buy a Bluetooth card and connect it to it.

How do I connect devices to my phone via Bluetooth?

Depending on the device, each one will have different synchronization methods (which will be indicated and explained in the instructions). I'm going to make the example with my wireless earbuds.

Generally speaking, the synchronization of speakers, earphones, and other devices which might have a Bluetooth button will be done by pressing that button (if your earbuds come in a case, opening the case could be enough).

To sync devices and make Bluetooth configurations:

  • Go to 'Settings' and look for the Bluetooth section.

  • Make sure it is activated, and turn on your device.

  • If it's the first time you connect these devices to your phone/tablet, this will appear in the 'other devices' section. If you have connected them before, they should appear in the 'my devices' section.

  • (If you are connecting them for the first time) keep the Bluetooth button pressed or open your earbuds' case to start with the sync.

  • Wait for their name to appear in your Bluetooth menu, that is, wait for your device to recognize this speaker/earphones/etc.

  • Now press on your device's name and wait for it to connect.

  • (If you have connected them before) simply tap on your device's name.

  • When your devices are connected, the word 'Connected' (or a Bluetooth symbol) will appear next to their name.

Depending on the device the connection protocol will change, but I wanted to explain what Bluetooth was and how it worked.

To disconnect devices go back to settings and tap on your device's name again, in the menu that will come up choose 'disconnect'.

If you press 'forget this device' your phone will delete its pre-established connection, and whenever you want to connect it again, you will have to repeat the previous sync process.

And that's it for today! I hope you found this article useful, and that you play lots of carols this Christmas. You can leave any suggestion or question in the comments, and I'll make sure to answer. Have a nice week!

Bye!
