Welcome back another week to CaroAlAparato! I'm Carolina and this week I'm here with the second part to our guide to Gmail! I hope last week's post was useful, because during the week, as I thought about what to talk about in today's post, I realised how much I use Gmail and how important it is as a means of communication. Well, let's get down to business and learn about what you can do with the emails you receive and how to subscribe to CaroAlAparato.

Part 1

In this article I'm going to cut straight to the chase, so here you have the link to the first part of this guide. I can't recommend you enough to read it:

I received an email, what now?

Once we have received an email, the first thing we want to do is read it, right?

To do so:

  • Go to your inbox.

  • Tap on the email you want to read.

Now we can:

  • ADD THE EMAIL TO 'STARRED': by tapping on the star that appears to the right of the email.

  • SNOOZE THE EMAIL: this means that the email will disappear from our inbox and won't be shown until the time that we select. We're literally snoozing to receive this email. To do so, tap on the three dots in the top right corner and then tap 'Snooze'. Now choose when to receive the email.

  • LABELING THE EMAIL: by adding a label to our email, we're classifying it under the criteria that we choose. To do so, tap on the three little dots in the top right corner and then choose 'move'. (If you don't have any label created): tap now on the '+' of the top right corner and name the label. Lastly, tap 'Save'. (If you already have a label created): tap on the three little dots and then 'label', now choose the label that you want, and then the tick that you will find in the top right corner to confirm.

  • MARK THE EMAIL AS IMPORTANT: This option will allow you to add the email to the 'Important' section. Tap on the three dots that you will find in the top right corner, and then 'Mark as important'.

  • MUTE: This way you won't receive any notifications for the replies to that email. Tap on the three little dots in the top right corner, and then tap 'Mute'.

  • UNSUBSCRIBE (if we're talking about a newsletter email, like CaroAlAparato): Tap on the three little dots in the top right corner and then 'Unsubscribe'.

  • REPORT SPAM: this will make the email be classified as 'not important', 'advertisement' or 'promotions'. To do so, tap on the three little dots in the top right corner, and then 'Report spam'. To take an email out of the spam section, go to the Spam inbox, repeat this, but tap 'Report as not spam'. (If you have subscribed to the CaroAlAparato newsletter, but can't seem to receive our emails, it might be because they have been automatically classified as spam).

  • REPLY TO THE EMAIL: tap on the arrow that appears at the top of the email (not the screen), then write your reply and click the blue arrow that you will find atop the screen.

Here you have an explanation video, with all the functions in order.

How do I subscribe to CaroAlAparato?

And that's it for today! I hope you guys found this post useful and that you enjoyed it. If you have any doubts or suggestions, leave them in the comments, I'll make sure to answer them! That being said, have a nice week!
