Reading books on your phone (Books app, Apple edition)

Welcome another week to CaroAlAparato, I'm Carolina! How is 2023 going for you? Are you Are you keeping up with your New Year's resolutions? Because I certainly am, this year I wanted to read more and so far I'm doing great! (Just finished The song of Achilles and I'm still recovering from it :') ). Anyways, today's post is going to be related to my resolution, because I'll explain to you how to read books on your phone (as if it were an eBook). Sadly, this post is only aimed towards Apple users, although I'll post an Android version soon.
Which app can I use?
In the App Store we will find numerous apps that we can use. However, Apple's devices already come with an eBook app installed, so we will just use the 'Books' app.
In this post I'll explain to you how it works.
(It should come preinstalled with your Phone, but just in case you deleted it or you don't have it for whatever reason, here you have a tutorial for downloading apps):

Books
Once we open the app, we'll find this menu:
In the bottom part we'll see:
READING: Here we will find the books we are reading, as well as some popular ones and, if we keep scrolling down, we'll find our reading objectives (you can set yourself time objectives for reading daily on this app).
LIBRARY: Here we will see the books that we have downloaded, as well as our collections (PDFs, audiobooks, finished books, etc.).
SHOP: We can explore the different book sections, news and literary trends, etc.
AUDIOBOOKS: Here we can download and listen to audiobooks.
SEARCH: Type here the name of the book or audiobook that we want to download to obtain it.
How do I read a book?
Before reading a book we must download/ buy it (some books are free, but some others are not). To do so:
Go to the 'search' and type in the book's name.
Once we find the book, tap on it.
Now you can: save it to your 'To Read' list, read a free sample or download it. If the word 'Get' is displayed, it's free, if the price is displayed, it is not.
Tap 'Get' or the price (if it is not free) and confirm the download/purchase.
Now it will appear on your library. Go to this section.
In the 'Library' section tap on the book you want to read.
Et voilà!
To move around the book, swipe to the left to advance and to the right to go back.
Finally, to mark with a bookmark the page you are reading, tap on the page and, on the menu that will come up, tap on the symbol you will find in the top right corner.
To get out of the book, tap on the arrow that you will find on the top left corner.
For the audiobooks:
Tap on the book to start playing it.
You can pause the audiobook by pressing the pause symbol and resume it by pressing play.
Adjust the volume with the sliding bar that you will find at the bottom part of the screen.
To go forth/back 15 seconds, tap on their respective buttons (advance: right, go back: left).
You won't need any bookmark here, as the app will register where you left the audio.
In the bottom left corner you can adjust the playing speed.
In the moon next to this you can program your phone so it turns off in 5-60 minutes or when the current audio ends (really useful to save battery if you like to listen to audiobooks before going to bed).
(The video is in Spanish, but it doesn't affect the instructions, as you have to tap symbols).
